Porter told the Board how the organization was trying to pub- licize Key West and Monroe County by sending a conga line representation to Tampa next month for entry in that city’s forthcoming Gasparilla Festival. The attorney stated that the esti- mated cost was about $2,000 to} send the group under Alfredo Boza to Tampa, and how the Latin-American Chamber was en- deavoring to raise the money through Cances, tag days and the like. The Chamber Vice President wanted some assurance from the County of aid, should the organi- zation not be able to raise the full $2,000. Porter is also to pre- sent the same proposition to the City Commissioners at their next regular meeting. County Commissioners told Porter that he should appear once more before the Board should the organization not be able to raise the $2,000 desired, and the Board. would see what they could do at that time.
