Gerald Saunders who was in charge of the pro- gram introduced Mrs. Brest who sang and did a tap dance; after which Roy Henson and Gerald Saunders sang.a duet accompani- ed by Mrs. Larsen, music teacher of the school. - Principal Carey :then introduc- ed Dr. Peeples of the Monroe County, Clinig Peeples « praised the PTA ggnerally and Skid’ that a’ ¢bod furtctiondl PTA was afi asset to, the Health Department. He then announce@ plans for the ae SS Eee Summer roundup for the children of all the schools. The Poinciana School is to: have May 17th for the date.of its roundup and the school children were scheduled to be at the Monroe County Clin- ic at 1:00 p. m. on that date. All committees gave their first year’s reports. Mrs. Carl Brill gave the history of all the school’s activities and accom- plishments for the year, and the amount of ground covered in the one year was a surprise to every- one. Mrs. Norma Dopp, President of the County Council gave a re- port. of the last council meeting held at Matecumbe. Installation of officers follow- ed by a social hour finished up the meeting, with the following Poinciana PTA -officers installed for the coming year: President, Mrs. Dorothy Torbitt; vice presi- dent; Mrs. Gerald Saunders; sec- retary, Mrs. Mildred Hatfield; treasurer, Mrs. Sue Jones. All outgoing officers were presented with gifts and corsages and the new officers received corsages also. County H ospital Women’s Auxiliary Busy With Buffet Supper Preparations Because the Women’s Auxili- ary of the Monroe County Hospi- tal will be pretty well occupied with the preparations for the buf- fet supper to be given on the Hos- pital grounds Thursday at 6:30 p. m., There will be no meeting of Hospitial Auxiliary Sewing committee that ‘day. The Buffet Supper is planned | for out of doors, but in the event, that it rains, the tables will be moved inside where there is am- ple- room even for a very large crowd. tH Miss Marie Hartell, hsopital di- rector, aided by Mrs.-Bernie C. Papy and members of the Busi- ness and Professional Women’s Club are in charge of the supper arrangements? There will be baked hams, scalloped potatoes, baked tomatoes, macaroni and salads—who could ask for More? It is hoped that many Key Westers and their families will take advantage of this’ supper event, as it is one of a regular monthly series the County Hospi- tal Women’s Auxiliary is’ plan- ning so that Key Westers may know their hospital and all its services and needs better. USO-NCCS Enjoyed Picnic At Perky Lodge With Wiener The USO NCCS held a Sunday picnic at Perky Lodge last week- end. through the .courtesy of its operator and owner, Mry Ballint. This delightful resort is’ some 18 miles “from Ke} West ‘just™be- young Pitates’ Cove ‘and jis a pop- ular swimming and*fishing spot. Everyone enjoyed thé swim- ming pool, diving hoard and of course, the outdoor fireplace.
