Mullen Saturday evening in the trailer home occu- pied by the family at Old Fort Taylor. Mrs. Gail M. Yesterday, Jones,. a military policeman, got drunk while} off duty, put an. M. P. badge his arm and demanded a jeep at a motor pool. He was refused the jeep, snatched a carbine from the man in charge and killed. him. Sawyer spoke of citizenship and told what the act of taking the oath of allegiance meant. The high school pupils at the ceremonies were in charge of Mrs. Charles Thompson. The Jacksonville ofice of Grey- hound Lines. wrote to Harold Laubscher, manager of the Cham- ber of Commerce, stating that Greyhound is going to send u representative through a number of northern cities by automobile. The literature distributed by the Greyhound representative will be carried free, and Grey* hound Lines also paid for the folders from Key West to Jack- sonville. Apply To Dredge Two Channels Off Marathon Army engineers, in this district, with headquarters in Jacksonyille have received applications for permits to dredge two chan- nels in the vicinity of Marathon. Mrs. Edna M. Vogstad asks for a permit to have a channel dredg- ed on the northerly shore of Key Vacas in Boot Key Harbor. The application specifies a channel 45 feet wide and five feet deep, ex- tending 500 feet from the shore to an existing channel. The other application was filed by J. L. Ribble, who intends to have dredged a channel 45 feet wide and four feet deep at low water, extending 400 feet into the sea from his lots in the Adams subdivision.
