PAGE EIGHT en The | OBSERVATIONS “OF A FOOL By BILL LEE ‘Gagonepeeagrvnnunnngeanyannatnnnccnvoeeacaganeegenrenngo* ,What, no‘Santa Claus in Key West? No, sir, narry a one that we can find. It seems strange not to have the old bewhisker- ed gent hanging out in some store or maybe collecting money on the street. We went to the Chamber of Commerce about it. . “Well, we've heard from sev- eral mothers asking where they can take their children to see and to hear Santa Claus, said Lettie Sullivan of the Chamber. “They miss the old guy, they say, because their children want to*hear what's in store for them at Christmas directly from San- ta Claus.” . Well, we heard there is going to be at least one Santa in town. He is going to be at Bayview Park on Saturday morning at the annual Christmas Tree Party and if you've missed the old boy this year you can go right out to Bayview Park on Saturday. - k* wk * ‘Memories of President Tru- man’s recent visit to Key West still, linger. He doesn’t know the name of the author of it, but the piece was given to him to'do what he wished with it. “You can run it in The Citi- zen, said Schopflin.
