FAGE FOUR Open House For First Graders In New School First graders of the Division! Street Elementary School will hold open house tomorrow from 1 to 3 p. m. at their new quarters in the former kindergarten build- ing at Reynolds and South street, the teachers of the school an- nounced today. All citizens will be welcomed, but the teachers hope especially that those parents who will have their own children attending the first grade classes in the building will attend. The building has been in pro- cess of rehabilitation during the summer months. For the last two weeks the teachers, Miss Marian Carey, Miss Susie Gardner and Mrs. Mary Curry Sweeting, have been busy moving equipment and putting the finishing touches to the building. “It will indeed be a lovely and | happy school for those little ones who are fortunate enough to at- tend.” said a joint statement is- sued by the three teachers today. (Continued from Page One) along with workers who are act- ually engaged in production. The student, according to Chap- Iman, in senior high school, is ‘placed in a training agency, in \the occupation of his choice, for four hours a day. The employer er, not simply to take him into his business on sufferance. “The student also spends four periods a day in school, two of which will be devoted to study} ldirectly related to the job he needs, and two to regular high} school subjects,” said Chapman. Dwight Hunter, who has resign-| ed as director of the city’s Depart- ment of Public Welfare and Rec- reation, is a member of the club who was bid goodbye by Presi- dent Edwin Trevor. Hunter said he hoped that*he had done some good in the city since his coming} here. To speed up the cooking of a meat loaf, take the meat mixture in individual loaves.
