Hawete of the American Legion, Arthur Sawyer Post No. 28, has an- nounced the 1947 winners of the Legion’s annual School Medal Awards, a to students pe range od leadership, char- scholarship, loyalty and pred elements tending toward a high ‘type of citizenship. The winners at Key West Junior High School are Zaida Diaz and Allen Valter Vinson, ‘both students of 9-A Grade. Winner at the Convent of Mary Immaculate is Amy Caroline Gibbs, and at St. Joseph’s School, William Laurie Roberts. , Conducted as an Americanism project of the Legion, the com- _ petition provides that the win- _ ning students be presented with an appropriate certificate and medal next week. Commander Harvey will conduct the presen- tations for the boys. and Miss Gretna McClain, president, Aux- iliary Unit No. 28, will make the girls’ awards.
