The Harris School PTA, which met on Tuesday evening in the school auditorium, was visited by the High School Ba: d, under the @irection of Mr. Marcellus. The meeting was opened with the Star Spangled Banner play- ed by the band, and followed by | other well rendered selections. Miss Becky Lou Gregory, ac- companied by her mother, Mrs. ! Harry Gregory, was next on the program, and offered several marimba selections. Guest speaker was Oliver Gris- wold, campaign chairman of the local Red Cross drive. who gave an interesting talk on the work | of the organization. Several members of the audience volun- teered for campaign, The business session, led by the | president, Mrs. Texas Hood, minutes and the treasurer's re- port. It was announced that the | PTA hdd spent $66 for school text books. It was also announc- ed that $100 had been set aside for library books for the school. Mrs. Glenwood Sweeting re- | ported on the last Room Mothers meeting and told of the plans for the “Tom Thumb Wedding” to be given on March 18, and the Easter Operetta to be presented at a later date. Mrs. Moreno Wallace, member- ship chairman, announced that the PTA now had the required number of members for the Blue| Ribbon Award. Mrs. James Singleton, publica- | tions chairman, reported she had acquired 28 subscriptions to the PTA magazine.
