’ Winter Guests Join Efforts And Hold A Key West Grouper Chowder Supper An old-fashioned Key West Chowder party left 30 winter guests. enthusiastic last night in their approval of the event, held at Cactus Gardens on Division street. As one said, “They ought to hold these all over town— frequently.” The idea was cooked up by Joe Zorsky, Cactus manager, and Joe Ruby, a master chef from Caldwell, N. J., who is spend- ing his vacation at the Gardens. Ruby also cooked up the grouper chowder but almost all of the guests had a hand in the ven- ture. Henry Dorfelt of Patterson, N. J., caught the grouper, pounder, assisted by William Leohr, Chiffeman Lake, O., Wil- liam Parker of Cleveland, and John Wieners of Malone, Wis., aboard the charter boat of Capt. Emanuel Lopez. Parker also caught a 5l-pound amberjack, but no chowder was made of him. Ruby, chef at the Mountain Ridge Country Club at Caldwell,‘ eq with pas and former chef at Demps Town Casino and the Emba: at Miami Beach; Gables Country Club been awaiting the chance to make grouper chowder for days. Women Help He spent all day yesterday converting the 49-pounder into some of the most flavorable chowder ever concocted.
