PAGE FOUR Pirates Seek First Win’ . With New Pitcher Sunday By NESTOR CASTENEDA Still gunning for their first Winter League victory, the Key West Pirates will send their new pitcher, G. Lastres, to the hill to- morrow against the Trojans. Thus far, the Pirates have dropped two games placing them im the cellar. The Trojans, who are tied with the Blue Sox for second place, will be trying to; keep as close as possible on the} heels of the first-place Red Raid- ers, and will probably use Char- lie Albury or Joe Casa on the) mound. My opinion is that they will give the nod to Casa since} Joe was released by the Pirates, and he will most likely want to | get revenge on his former team- mates. In the first game, the league-} leading Red Raiders will send: their other ace, Bo Meador, to} the hill in an effort to strengthen their hold on first place. DeWitt | Roberts will be in back of the plate. Manager Manolo (Ace- vedo of the Blue Sox, has con- tinued strengthening his club by signing new players. | Recent signatures include pitch- | er E. Mauldin, a newcomer, and “Crip” Lastres, who will hold| down first base for the Sox. Both| are expected to sce action in Sun- day's game. G. Diaz, who iast week held the Pirates in check from the third inning on, will probably get the pitching asignment, with Ace- vedo, himself, being on the re- ceiving end. Following are the probable line- ups for tomorrow's games: FIRST GAME ( P.M.) Red Raiders vs. Blue Sox RAIDERS—Arnold, ss; T.
