Poem EY PAGE FOUR ~ ¢ | reg Of Church Women At Flemine Church The November meeting of the Waited Council of Church Women Was held last week at the Flem- Street Methodist Church. meeting was called to or- der by Mrs. Chester Sawyer, of the Fleming Street Church. A prayer was said by Mrs. MacCon- nell of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church end was followed by scripture reading by Mrs. Thompson of Peinciana Community Church. Readings were given by Mrs. Carl Bervaldi of the Neming Street Church and Mrs. W: F. Rewery of Ley Memorial Metho- dist Church. A solo was rendered by Mrs. Poul Archer of the First Congre- gational Church. ‘Theme of the meeting was “The Price of Enduring Peace” and Wes discussed by Mrs. CHester Sewyer A duet was sung by Mrs. Carl Bervaldi and Mrs. Paul Herrick, | followed by prayer by Rev. There were 10 churches repre- sented at the meeting, with the Fleming Street Mthodist Church having the largest number of members present. Miss Holly Johnson resigned as | secretary and Mrs. Joseph Pinder | | Wee elected to take her place. The various churches reported | visiting the Old Folks Home, heaving a short service there and then serving refreshments. It | Was decided to keep the Old Potks Home on the project ye for the next quarter. Thanksgiving basket will ral sent to the Old Folks Home by the council. An offering taken at the meet- ing will be sent to buy clothing fer the orphan children of Eu- rape. The next meeting will be held January 6, 1947, at the First Methodist (Old Stone) Church.
