The resolution authorized the City Comptroller to take neces- sary action to'pay for and com- plete the purchase of the bonds. He was booked to leave here in a plane at 9:15 o’clock for London, but, at the last minute, cancelled his reservation and decided to make the trip by train and boat. The plane, on which he had reserved a seat, crashed into a factory in ‘the out- skirts of Paris shortly after the takeoff. One of the engines died out and the plane dived into the building. s Aboard the plane were 26 persons, and 20.of them were killed. The other six, four passengers and two crew- men, were severely injured. It was the second plane tragedy in Paris in the last 24 hours. Plea Made For Aid To Airline Rogelio Gomez, manager of thé Aerovias Q. Airlines, which have ‘been operating between Key West and Havana, but which. re- cently was grounded by the Civil Aviation Administration at Wash- ‘ington, appeared before City Commissioners last night to: re- quest them to use their influence in having the passenger flight service restored. Mr. Gomez told the commis- sioners that he felt the service is essential and definitely in thé public interest. He requested that they pass a resolution which would call upon Florida congress- men and senators in Washington ! to make an appeal to the CAA for ' restoration of Aerovias Q.’s flight : service.
