Adler doesn't live far from the airport. So just before he lands he circles his home, blows the horn and his wife . puts the finishing touches on dinner. Most pilots at the airport have to yell for a line boy to give them service. Adler just toots his horn. If he wants to communicate with his son at home, he sounds the horn staccato style in Morse code. His son knows the code. Adler got the idea for his airplane horn when he had to make an emergency landing in a cornfield. There was a fairly wide concrete highway beside the field. Adler was afraid of hitting somebody because his motor had gone dead and he was coming in U.
