Orr, director of WPA projects in this district, returned today from conferences in Jack- sonville. He told The Citizen he had returned with sufficient funds to continue activities in Key West till June 1. Key West Young Men’s Demo- cratic Club will hold a rally to- night in the cdurt house. Ar- rangements will be made, after the meeting, for a pre-election dance to be held May 16. A special dispatch from Wash- ington, published in The Citizen today, says that the Coast Guard cutter Tampa, which was to be assigned to Key West, will be stationed in Mobile, Ala. Plans were made by city council, at a special meeting last night, to operate the Key. West Aquarium. Water will be pumped to the aquarium from the naval station and the cost for electricity will be paid for by local eon- tributions. Gravy (Sam Goldsmith) class- ically relates, in his column about golf in The Citizen today, a still- pulsing incident that occurred on the No. 7 fairway yesterday aft- ernoon. No. 7 is par 3, and it re- quired four hefty shots, that tore up divots large enough to hide sizeable grapefruit in, to get as far as the bunkers, midway in the fairway. The Duke of Rock Sound, who wielded the club, sputtered and fumed, after he had | ‘ i dubbed the fourth shot, and goose-stepped toward the ball, ensconced unoffendingly behind the bunker. “The Duke’s com- plexion was a vivd crimson by the time he came up to his ball. He drew back his right foot and kicked the ball resoundingly. Over the bunker it flew andje stopped four inches from the cup. ‘Hey, you’, I called out from the fourth tee, from where I was watchihg thé performance; ‘the next time you play leave your clubs in the starter shop and make the rounds with the toe of . your unerring right boot.’ ” Today: The Citizen says in an editorial paragraph: “Tt’s a good rule to buy from a merchant who frankly admits he is making a profit.” Mother’s Day Services | First , Congregational Chureh 517-527 Maen Street Morning Service at 11 A.
