BLEISNER OUR CANDIDATE In the Sponge Festival contest for Queen, Miss Delores Thorn- ley, has some stiff competition and it is going to také the united effort of every Lion to put her roar down the home stretch and place that crown on the queenly h@ad of Miss Delores. (Incident- ally, Delores is the daughter of a former Lion who we hope some- day to be able to reinstate when his duties will permit him to at- tend our meetings regularly.) LEO HAS HIGH HOPES For those new. committee chair mé@n.which President’ Benzy ap- painted last week, A Lions Club istonly as effective as the com- nfittees which guide its activities. In order for a committee to be effective and to do worthwhile things it is necessary for the chairman to hold meetings from time to time with the other mem- bers of his committee. This is something which has been sadly lacking in,the past and it is our men will take the time and trouble to hold these committee meetings at a convenient time at the den or at the home of some member of his committee. It will pay rich dividends in worthwhile accomplishments. WE WERE SORRY ‘That prospective Lion Bill Put- camp was unable to be with us last week for induction but he has promised to come out on Thursday. Bill’s a mighty fine chap-and.it is a genuine. pleasure to extend him, a most cordial wel¢ome. into our membership. YOU LIONS Who have been lax in your at- tendance had better perk up.
