DEMERITT is one of my favorite Key West : Mayor Bill has run a good cain | paign thus far and has helped to fulfill many of his campaign Promises. Hé is a definite boost to mor the City, Hall and tive, eS when’ due. Like the old Coast “Guardsman he is, when something is reported @s in bad shape he gives an im , Mediate promise that the point will be remedied. Sometimes there are some of his city actions We cannot agree with but one thing is certain and that is that his motive behind it all has been for the good of the people, and if @ man’s motive is good you can forgive mistakes quickly. Anoth- @r thing is his infectious humor. Bill is always ready to chuckle with people over the little jokes Key Westers pass between them. The other day he said over the Phone that he was suffering from Padioscleroastis, which he then Went on to explain was a lack of fee cream. Mayor Bill dearly loves ice cream | Rok xk i MRS. STEPHEN DOUGLASS is always so charming. She is one wf those sweet Key West ladies the island has produced through the years and who have charmed $0 many visitors to the city. Mrs. Douglass lives in the oldest house in Key West on Duval street. | xk Another Key West lady, I lik> to talk to is MRS. HUGH WIL LIAMS, Mrs. Williams is always so bubbling wer with fun and With excitement over just living She is a southern girl and remem- bers many of the old southern Ways. | x * We have had quite a colony of writers and artists come through Key West this winter. There will be some BOOKS writ- ten about the Island City, some FILMS will be made and there will be many MAGAZINE AR‘- TICLES, according to plans an- ounced by the writers. | Judy Doughtry, _| Miss Marie Hartell, Mrs. ern | Social Calendar SUNDAY Open House at Key West Mu- nicipal Hospital, Sponnsored by Woman’s Auxiliary. 2 to j 5 p.m. PHONE 535 ie | MONDAY Key West Players, Barn Thea-, ter. 8:00 p.m. xKkK* TUESDAY | -Everready Star Club, Residence of Mrs. Emma Medlin. 3.0)! * Week At Clubhouse Miss.
