This places the center of the storm 280 miles east southeast of Turks Island, British West Indies. “It is attended by winds estimated at 135 miles an hour near center and winds of hurricane force extend from 80 to 100 miles from center in a northern semi-circle. “This hurricane should reach the vicinity of Turks Island by 3 a.m. Friday and affect all of the southeastern Bahamas during the day and possibly the remainder of the Bahamas by late Friday and Friday night.
