Doubtless you, who have given your dear ones to the armed forces, can well understand how these stages of perspective have forti-| fied you by such a preparation.| me from shooting a deer. Accordingly, you can realize how | these stages should fortify all of our people ,;who now are being de- | prived in lesser degree, beca of the increa: in, rationing. Indeed much has been said and| written about rationing. First it| was the rationing of petroleum, | which took salient position on the radio and in the press. Now comes sertations on the n types of edibl ertations give us the} lence that further curtail- ments will be put upon us. From all such discussions it is interesting to follow the reactions every new restriction creates. As desire is thwarted, because of this increase in curtailments, hos- tile or fearful inclinations often; inspire hoarding before the fac-| tual date of rationing is set. Then comes the stage of giving-up the struggle, wherein a kind of resig- nation takes place. And lastly | comes the acceptance to any| method which will hasten a vic- tory in this war. Or to put it| somewhat differently, continuous and added restrictions, which w: ofrces upon gradually change our perspective until our desires | become so tractable that they no longer oppose fice.
