New York Cathedral Opens Entire Nave Nov. 30-Dec. 7 {spreinl to THe Citizen) NEW YORK, N. Y., Dec. 20.— Announcement is made from the office of the Rtt Rev. Wil- liam T, Manning, Episcopal bigh- op of New York, that he opened the entire length of the Cathe- dral of St. John the Divine on Sunday, November 30. All parts of the great Cathe- dral had already been im use as eparate units. but this was the first time that the whole build- ing from the bronze doors on the Amsterdam Avenue front to the High Altar, had been used in its entirety. When completed, St John’s will be the largest Cathedral in the world. The observance con- tinued from November 30 to De- cember 7 and was marked by many special services. It is estimated that seating accommodations were provided for at least 6,000 people, with space-provided for many more to stand.
