A property settlement reached at the time of their separation was ordered to continue in ef- fect. Judge Gomez, who turned down Miss Compton's original divorce plea two weeks ago on grounds of insufficient evidence, heard a far story at yesterday's trial. Miss Compton, who had de- scribed Walker as a close friend even after their separation in her original testimony, told Judge | Gomez yesterday that his temper had miade her fear for her bodily safety. On one occasion, she testified, | Walker cursed and threatened her before their chauffeur so that she jumped from the..gar in heavy |New York traffic. Walker, when he was in one of his periodic rages, she told Judge Gomez, did not know what he was doing. Miss Compton said she came to Florida to make her permanent home here and has made plans for the establishment of a school of dancing.
