Dave Garson conducted the Casa Marina orchestra with ap-/| propriate music; the soft murmur ‘of the sea and a gentle breeze in the palm trees adding a soft un- dertone. It was incredibly beautiful, and Mrs. Frederick W. Knapp, presi-; dent of the Senior Woman’s Club, and her aides, Mrs. Joseph Lopez, president of the Junior Woman’s Clab, Mrs. Al Mills, Mrs. William Warren and George Mills White, ‘ate to be congratulated. It shold ' bea source of much satisfaction | to’ them that their efforts and long; hours of work have been so richly | rewarded. { Key West has reason to be proud, too, of her pretty daugh- ters. They surely did justice to the clothes they modelled, which were so lavishly furnished by the leading establishments in town, As each model appeared, George | Mills White, in presenting her, by | hhame, gave a short description of appearance: Bathsuits 1. The models; were obviously in. their element and their performance would have done justice to seasoned} manniquins. Some very attractive bathing suits were the first to be shown, followed by a presentation of gay playsuits. The slacks outfits were very nifty, the street clothes smart and good looking, but best of all were the evening clothes. Most of them were diaphanous and frilly, others chic and sophis- ticated. Byrnes will entertain Key West Tourist Club members tonight at the Art Cen- ter with a talk on Chinese re- ligion and an exhibition of idols he has collected in the Orient. He has more than 100, some of which are several centuries old. One of the events scheduled on the ‘program for last! week, a vis- it 'to the museum at'the Convent of Mary Immaculate, did! not ma-< terialize because of bad weather. The trip will be scheduled ‘again in the near future as the first of a series of pilgrimages to various points of interest around the city.
