The case in Key West, how- ever, is not altogether a question of morals or health, but reaches deeper. We are at the point where the future welfare of our city rests on our action at this time. The basis on which the exist- ence of any community rests is law enforcement. The city statutes’ book probably has ample laws to control and even prohibit the practice of prostitution. It is common knowledge that youngsters of fourteen to twenty years of age are permitted by the , Operators of resorts to frequent ; their places of business. For a very few days, late this past autumn, this practice was stopped, but tonight a large number of minors can be found in the bars and brothels of Key West.
