Reports were given by all de- partment chairmen. Mrs. W. Jay Ingling, library chairman, made a splendid report on work out- lined by her committee and asked that each member of, and v or to, the club bring to the January meeting, a book to be used in the library. A quota of 200 addi- tional books for the library in 1940 has been set as a goal Mrs. Wm. Warren reported the arrival of Red Cross materials, including yarns for knitting, at| the headquarters on Duval street, opposite the Southern Cross Hotel. It is gratifying to know the young girls of the community ; are “doing their bit” in this en- terprise. Classes in knitting are conducted by a volunteer worker, Mrs. Louise Brinton, daily at the High Schoo], while students at the Convent are developing this talent under the tutelage of the Sisters. Volunteer workers are solicited for sewing each Friday afternoon. After Christmas these groups will also meet on Tues- days.
