The loss dropped the Bengals into third position, leaving the idle New York Yankees in sole possession of the second rung. Hard luck was with the Tigers yesterday. Seven runs were recorded in that frame on just four safeties, aided by the second stanza, the Tigers lost the services of their first-string centerfielder, Barney McCosky, who injured his side in attempting to stop a hard-hit liner otf the bat of Wright. He may be out of the lineup for a week. Two veteran players starred the Cincinnati Red victory the St. Louis Cardinals in e lone National League contest erday.
