Score was 7 to 5. Joe Medwick, newly-acquired star-outfielder, was knocked out of the game in the first inning by a “bean ball” from the hand of pitcher Bowman. Collecting 14 hits BUSH ISSUES CHALLENGE Manager Ray Bush of the Pirates’ baseball club issued a challenge to the Blue Sox club for a game to be played next Sunday, or any other day in the near future that suits Manager Caraballo. Bush pointed out that his team has lost twice to the Marines, and that the Blue Sox have beaten the Leathernec “However”, he said, “we ould like the chance to prove that our team can upset the status-quo and come out on top of the Sox”.
