Lord, which authorized the wedding of George W. Perpall, Jr., and Miss Kathryn E. Thompson. Another license was issued in the afternoon yesterday from the office of Judge Lord which authorized the marriage of Claude E. Salis and Miss Dorothy Mayfield Knowles. Both of the wedding ceremonies are to be performed by Rev. J. P. Lilly of Flemjng Street Meth- odist church. A. At Harris School | Installs Officers Division Street School P.-T. A. of Harris |held its final meeting for the cur- rent school year on Tuesday aft- ernoon. A short musical program was presented, consisting of numbers by the Sixth Grade Chorus, “The Booklet” and “Only; talk and used as his topic “Honor |One Mother”. Little Ann Dough- | try played a xylophone solo, ac- companied by her sister, Joan. In the regular business pro- cedure, delegates were appoint- ed te attend the Short Course of Instruction at Gainesville. Those selected were the president, Mrs. Shanahan, and Mrs. Eugene Roberts. At the close of the business, Mrs. Mervin xussell, president of | the County Council, intalled the officers selected to serve during the coming school year. Mrs. N. V, Shanahan was re- vice-president, Mrs: James Higgs as secretary and Miss Miriam Carey as treasurer. Miss Virginia Shine, historian for the past year, gave an inter- esting account of the year’s ac- tivities. Committee to serve for the coming year were appointed by the president and plans were laid for the annual summer round- up. A count of parents present gave Mrs. Jones’ room the high- est percentage for the eighth time this year. Mrs. Russell's sixth grade won again, also, this being their fifth time to win during the year. At the close of the meet- ing prizes were awarded to these rooms. Miss Cochrah’s room and Mrs. Florence Mullinax’ fourth grade also received prizes for holding second place in parent attendance during the year. Harris Room Mothers Entertained Teachers Room Mothers of Harris School Parent-Teachers Association en- tertained teachers of all classes at a Farewell Party last evening at the Lions Club clubhouse on Seminary street, starting at 8:00 o'clock. A program headed by Mrs. Eva Warner of the WPA Recreation! Department was presented, much enjoyed by the assemblage num- bering approximately fifty. Ton- nette solos and quartettes were featured as well as singing num- bers preented by Mrs. Warner, John Bennett, Thomas and Ed- mund Curry, with Beatrice Mo- reno at the piano.
