LAND FAIR GROUNDS The Harris School Kite Contest, | which was held at Trumbo Island | Fair Grounds on Saturday morn-/} ing, April 8, was a great success, with many contestants from the various schools and many inter- ested spectators present. This contest was sponsored by the Fifth Grade of the Harris School and its teacher, Mrs. Isa- bel Ball, and was under the su- pervision of the W.P.A. Recrea- tion Department with Thomas Curry in charge. Three boy scouts of Troop 49, Miami, volunteerred to act as judges of the contest. They were: Robert Dalton, Andrew Jackson High School; Norman Smith, Mi- ami Edison High; Ben Turner, Andrew Jackson High. Albert pre- sented his postage stamp kite and iis spider kite to Troop 9, Boy Scouts of Miami, as a souvenir gift of the Key West Kite Contest. Each of the three scouts who act- ed as judges were presented with a kite by Parra.
