Years of experience with the decorations of church fairs, suppers, and similar entertain- ments told him that the room was Done. While the tour will not in any way be commercialized upon, any commercial company may spon- sor a plane with suitable adver- tising, but no ship entering the cruise will be permitted to charge a fee for passengers. It is hoped that each of the 67 counties will sponsor a plane with the name of the county painted thereon. Free gasoline and oil for the tour will be furnished by the Gulf Oil Corporation. However, each ship receiving this courtesy will be required to stay with the flight to which it is assigned en- route. to New York and on the return trip. The tour will begin at West Palm Beach on June 18 when the regular yearly meeting of the Florida Aviation Association will be held. On the 20th the tour will go to Jacksonville where an evening party will be given. Oth- er stops will be made at Savan- nah, Ga.; Charleston, S. C.; Ra- leigh, N: C.; Richmond, Va.; Washington, D. THE KEY WEST CITIZEN ®| PLANE SQUADRONS ANSWERS: 1. Some time before 1630, the Countess of Chinchon, vicerine of Peru, was cured of malarial fever by administration of the bark of a tree, which had long been known to the Peruvian Indians. Within a few years this bark was introduced into Europe and proved highly effective in trea ing “ague”, that is, malaria. It was called cinchona bark, in honor of the Countess of Chin- chon. 2. It was valued as an antidote for poison. It was supposedly derived from the mythical uni-! }corn, but was in reality nothing but ivory. This belief lasted un- til the reign of Charles II, when it was proved to be useless as an antidote. 3. There is every reason to believe that wigs owed their | vogue to the great prevalence of \syphilis during the 15th and 16th centuries. The baldness result- ing from this disease necessitat- jed a resort to wigs. Baldness, | however, is no sign of syphilis. | @istributed by Florida State Board of Health through Monroe County Health Unit) KEY WEST IN DAYS GONE BY Happenings Here Just Ten Years Ago Today As Taken From The Files A regular meeting of Arthur Sawyer Post American Legion will be held tomorrow evening, beginning at 8 o’clock, at the Legion home.
