Putnam, Jr., 13th Coast Artillery, has reported for duty in the Harbor Defenses at Key West, being . transferred from Fort Tilden, Long Island, New York. Major Putnam is well known in Key West, having served as Instructor of the 265th Coast Artillery, Florida National Guard, with in Miami, and accompanied the regiment to camp at Fort Taylor several sum- mers. Mrs. Putnam is the former Ruth Cash of Key West, daughter of Mrs. Ella Cash of 906 White- head street. The Putnams are oc- cupying one of the cottages at Fort Taylor, pending the comple- tion of repairs to their permanent quarters at Key West Barracks. Captain William F. Niethamer, 13th Coast Artillery, is at pres- ent on temporary duty in the Harbor Defenses in connection with the W.P.A. projects now un- derway at Fort Taylor and Key West Barracks. Captain Nietha- manent station is Fort Pensacola, Florida, recently served in Panama.
