R. Bruns of Davenport, Iowa, was landed Fri- day from Jakie Key's party launch, “Legion”. Mr. Bruns, Mrs. Bruns, and children, James, Genevieve, Hel- en and Paul, spent the winter at St. Petersburg trolling for silver kings. Not a one was caught. Just sharks. Then they moved on to Boca Grande on the west coast. Not a tarpon. Next they tried Miami, but still the prized silver king eluded their hooks. Finally they came to Key West and of all things, Mr. Brun not only got his tarpon but the larg- est one of the season, which in six-foot these waters is indeed a whop- . per! Excitement reigned when the big silver struck. On the opening dash it streaked off for more than 300 yards with the rod brake screaming all the way. There were but three turns of line left on the reel when Mr. Brun final ly halted its mad dash. Then fol lowed a fight in the dark waters which was indeed a struggle and at the end of which the Dave port Wholesale Seeds was “shaky and all in ed more than I have my whole life” Just before si tarpon were roll Man of War ha was hooked, but also kicked off changed and be © run in was just about this time when the big fellow took the trolled mullet bait.
