SOCIAL ACTIVITIES Greatly enjoyable was an ve- ning of sound and color motion pictures presented by Jacob Schreiber, winter visitor, to the nuns and boarders in the Convent of Mary Immaculate auditorium last night. It was the first time in the his- tory of the Convent that- sound pictures were ever heard within the walls. A news film in sound, review- ing the principal news events of the year and released by a na- tional service was particularly en- joyed. Breath taking in beauty were the Miami and Key West seehes, which showed brilliant red poinsettias, scenes aboard a_ gorgeous! fishing launch with colors of sky, blue sparkling wa- ter, startling green waving coco- nut trees, and also featured many local persons. An excellent shot of Ernest Hemingway, famous author, who has made Key West his home for some time, was 21so a highlight of the presentation. A number of sound musical shorts were also sereend. - ” At the conclusion of the eve- ning, Mother Superior thaaked Mr. Schreiber for the opportunity ! of viewing the films, and -Mr. | Schreiber expressed his pleasure at their having enjoyed them Planning For Annual Operetta Key West High School Glee Club is now making preparations to present the annual operetta. “The Isle of Chance” in two acts has been chosen for the presenta- tion this year on Friday, March 4at8:15 p.m * Operetta will be given under the direction of Miss Edna B.
