Tea will be in progress from 4:00 to 6:00 o’clock, and Mrs. H. S. Dexter is in charge of arrangements for this tea, with members of the Key West Junior Woman’s Club as-) sisting in serving. During the! tea hours the Marine Band will furnish a concert. On Thursday the Flower Show} will be visited by schoo] children of the city from the Convent and, Publie Schools, and children from colored schools wi!l attend on Fri- day. On Thursday night the show will be open for colored visi-, tors from 6:00 to 8:00 o'clock. This Flower Show. presented annually by the Key West Garden; Club, is this year expected to eclipse all previous shows. Mem- bers of the club have been work- ing like beavers collecting speci-, Every day sees tennis matches being played on the Casa Marina courts, for it is the rendezvous not only of guests at the hotel, | but also a large number of Key Westers and winter residents. Every Sunday there is a delight- ful tennis tea, when, during the matches, tea served on the spacious, beautiful lawn surround-/ ing the courts. : Regularly seen on the courts’ are Mrs. David Ingalls, the Misses Jane Peabody, Ellen Peabody,’ Elizabeth Tant and _ Bethine Standart and the Me: Jack Latimer, y Burdick, J. Too, there will be displayed many varieties of tropical fruits and vegetables, and a collection of seeds and seed-pods that last year excited much favorable comment from out-of-towners, and was by many people considered one of the most. interesting features of the entire Flower Show. There will be growing plants and flowers, cut flowers in vases and in many artistic arrange- ments, many varieties of ferns and palms and eacti, hanging- baskets, haskets of flowers, and several dinner, tables in charming| arrangements. The Flawer Show is a civic af- fair, and all are doing their part to make tomorrow’s official open- ing aceminently successful, beau- tiful- and ‘enjoyable one. “Red” Hastings, of Miami, with a score of 6-2, 6-4; Robert Voor- his won over George Perio, 6-2, 8-6; Larry Burdick lost to Bill 2; and Grant Hoff- man was victorious over Max Dun- lop, 6-0, 6-3. In the deciding doubles match the Messrs. Lati- mer and Voorhis defeated Messrs. Hastings and Hardie with a score of 7-5, 8-6, Last Sunday saw the largest gathering yet assembled for the regular tennis tea, which is grow- ing rapidly in popularity, and which takes its place among the various other sports in progress at Casa Marina. Fishing, which is popular with almost every guest at the hotel, is a daily feature. Today, for instance, there are eleven boats scheduled to go out.
