"LOPEZ HAS CASE UNDER me > ADVISEMENT “County Solicitor _Aquilino Lopez, Jr., today heard the testi- mony of Louis Bancells in the matter of Bancells’ affidavit and testimony in the case of Francisco Perez, who was tried yesterday “at @ preliminary hearing on a charge of assault with a deadly ‘weapon. The hearing was the result of trouble between Perez and Ban- eelis Tuesday after which the latter made affidavit in which he is said to have charged Perez life with a gun. At the hearing yesterday Ban- cells’ testimony was said to be so different from his statements at the time he made the affidavit, the committing magistrate, Peace Justice Rogelio Gomez, asked the cotinty solicitor to investigate and decide whether or not Bancells was guilty of perjury. -A subpoena was issued for Ban- fells and this morning he made a statement to Mr. Lopez, who is now considering the matter and will later render his: decision.
