The show was opened to the public yesterday afternoon and the first one to enter the realm of beauty and delightful aromas was Admiral C. S. Freeman, U.'S. N., who arrived from Cuba Tuesday afternoon. Admiral Freeman, who is an amateur botanist of note, and has had a wide experience in floral exhibitions, was surprised and de- lighted at the display of floral produced on this island and freely. stated that he had never imagined there were so many varieties of shrubs and flowers in Key West. On a large table, in charge of Mrs. May Douglas, was a display of fruits and vegetables which re- ceived a blue ribbon. In the ex- hibit were Pineapples, cocoanuts, pomegranates, bananas, guavas, watermelons, onions, tomatoes. peppers, egg plants, dates, pars- ley, cocoa plums, hog plums, or- anges, sour sop, broccoli, ti-es, lemons, Spanish cucumbers and avocados, grown in the city. In an inclosure in the center of the main room of the building were three tables, one arranged for breakfast, one for luncheon and one for dinner. Table Settings The breakfast table, .by Mrs,, J. J.. Trevor, was set for two, iwith hand painted chinaware. In’ the center a miniature coraline vase with rock'roses, blue forget:me- nots and pink gladiolus, The luncheon table was by Mrs. Harry C.
