COCONUTS’ TEAM GAME PLAYED YESTERDAY AFTERNOON RESULTS IN 12 TO 10 SCORE I would like to suggest that the league name two umpires, and give them full authority to expel from the game any player that kicks against any of their decisions, unless they kick in the proper way and in an orderly manner. If any protest or rules are vio- lated by them the managers ought to be the only ones to say any- thing or the captains, and let the rest of the players keep quiet. I think this idea will give us a better game and in a more orderly manner, so let the managers get together if they think this is worth while and do something about it, esting from start to finish. The Pirates are supposed to be the best in the city and they won only two and lost four, one bet- ter than my club. What was I supposed to do, win all the games before they would let me stay in the league? I am under the impression that when a league is formed, and a schedule is adopted, the word of honor of every manager is at stake, and the schedule is played through regardless of what the outcome may be. That is the rea- }son why baseball is losing inter- jest, because we need men in jcharge that will not change the scheduled after the series com- H -.| mences unless a club wants to “| retire. world All can In any league in the some club must be last. not be first. I think that some of the rival managers wanted some of my players and that is the reason they dropped my club. I hope that they will benefit a hundred fold for this uncalled for action. I also want to say a few words in regard to the way they took this action, without letting me know they were going to drop my club. I found out after they had done this and had adopted a new schedule. Does any man with any sense of honor think this was right? They at least would have let me known. I hope that the leading clubs in this second half take the same action against the last club in the standing, if there is any last club in: this ha}f. ; “And ‘now tl are two reasons why I will not play again in this city as long as the present man- jager have anything to do with the game. First: They do mot want | my clyh. ta play, and second: I feel that they have not treated } me fair in the matter. R. RODRIGUEZ, Manager, Pelicans B. B. C. Key West, Fla., Jan. 26, 1934.
