The shipment, one of the larg- jest ever received here, came from the Lever Brothers company’s plant and includes the nationally advertised Lux, Lifebuoy health soap, Rinso and Lux toilet soap. In connection with the city- wide sale of the products today, interesting window displays haye nstalled in all leading gro- ceries, by H, B. The display is one of the many ways, | it is said, in which the soap mak- lers cooperate with local chants, Shows Buying Trend The carload shipment here, it is said, is a good indication of the trend in modern merchandizing. The retail grocers of the city pooled their buying resources to make possible the purchase of a | solid carload of soap. The carload jshipment cut the cost of handling jand this saving, it is said, is to be passed on to the buyers through a reduction in the prices of these soaps. And Lux in the dishpan’ gives beauty care to hands, keeps them white and soft, at less than a cent a day, it is claimed. Rinso, housewives everywhere are said to declare, gives whiter washes easily and quickly. In the tub, this granulated laundry soap soaks cottons and linens whiter and brighter then they could pos- sibly be scrubbed. The makers of 40 leading washing. machines re- commend Rinso, and 32,000 wash- er salesmen use it to demonstrate their machines. Lifebuoy health soap, with its abundant, fenetrating, purifying lather, is designed to stop body odor by cleansing the pores of odor-causing waste. Washing hands often with Lifebuoy re- moves germs—helps prevent the spread of colds and other contact diseases. “Fragrant, white Lux toilet soap is the favorite of nine out of 10 beautiful screen stars, These lovely women of the films always look young and beautiful. They never lose their youthful charm— never seem to grow a day older. Complexion care is their secret and for years the great majority of them have depended on Lux toilet soap for the fascinating, youthful complexion,” the repre- sentatives declared. “TODAY'S BIRTHDAYS arecccere Claude A.
