C., Aug. 17.—With good programs, the southern assembly of the M. E. Church, South, will close its 14th season here August 20, cul- minating with “Haywood County Day” on which Bishop Edwin D. Mouzon, of Charlotte, will speak both afternoon and morning. “Following the close of the Ep- worth League assembly August 15, two weeks of Chautauqua and evangelistic features were inaug- urated. Dr. Edward Leigh Pell, of Richmond, Va., will deliver a series of five lectures on “How Jesus Meets our deepest needs.” The evening of Augist 16 will be for young people with an enter- taining feature in the auditorium. Miss Inene Bewley, dramatic reader, will give programs on the . even'ngs of August 17 and 18. ‘The Junaluska double quartetic will present a musical program the evening of August 19.
