Girls, you may never be able to} go to Harvard, but you can see} “Brown of Harvard” at the| Monroé Theatre today and| tomorrow. It’s much cheaper, and | 1 presume much more fun. 1 saw) this Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer picture jJast night, and I’m going again to-| night. I'll tell you another thing, | too, “The Merry Widow” is the} only other picture I have ever gone to see twice, Well, girls, William Haines is simply divine as “Brown,” and how that boy can make love! I took Johnny along, and if he didn’t get a few pointers, . it wasn’t my fault. Peggy Hopkins; Joyce says that Billy is the best little lover in pictures, but she} hadn’t seen “Brown of Harvard” then. She would probably take in‘imtich more territory now. IT haven’t been so thrilled since the first time I proposed, or rather got a proposal out of him, which is the same thing. But gee, if you want to see a real football game, and know what it’s all about, this picture is a lesson for you. I’ve always been a hot-headed fan, and have rooted till my lungs ached, but never be- fore did I understand the least thing about the game. A forward pass and “They shall not pass” have always meant the same thing to me, but no more. Now I can en- jay a game as well as root. Mary Brian is so beautiful, that even I couldn’t fee] jealous of her, as “Mary Abbott.” Bill and Mary ke 2 perfect flapper Romeo and jiet, though thank goodness neither one takes poison, There are so many good looking boys in “Brown of Harvard,” that I couldn’t keep them all straight in-my mind., here is Francis X. Bushman, Jr., who looks as though he is going to develop into as great a pulse throbber as his father, and Ernest Gillen, who was last seen in “The Auction Block.” Jack Pickford perfect as} “Doolittle,” and I wept as real tears as he did when he died. He plays the kind of a boy that girls forget, but I couldn’t help feeling sorry for him, and if he hadn’t died, I might have considered} marrying him myself. Mary Alden and David Torrence play the mother and father of Brown, and Edward Connelly. is Mary ‘Brian’s father. Guinn “Big Boy” Williams, the former West- ern star, plays Walters, the All- American half-back, and if you go in for the big outdoor man, write him a fan letter. - Talk about rug- ged, this boy is a young Gibraltar in himself. If you’d really like to know, Jack Conway, who put the love in- terest in “Soul Mates,” and “The Only Thing,” directed “Brown of Harvard.” THIS WOMAN'S __ BATTLE Wins Against Ill Health “At times I was hardly able to do housework, garet Wallace, of 1647 Safford Ave., Columbus, Ohio.
