The Citizen is now a good paper, carrying the full Associated Press: day service—the very thing they have always insisted upon—yet the patronage of The Citizen is less than it has ever been before. KS) Ak ee SR The management has gone to tremendous expense in purchasing new equipment to improve The Citizen, to enlarge and modernize it, and every one will readily admit that it is at present a highly creditable newspaper, 4 Those business men who have always said they would gladly support a good newspaper if they had one are simply asked to come acrossand do what they said they: would do. This newspaper is operating at a loss; simply because it is not getting the patronage that is justly due it from the business firms of Key West. Retrenchment will soon become ab- solutely necessary unless the Key West business and professional men patronize The Citizen as they should. ___ The volume of business must be inereased, or the standard of The Citizen must be low- ered. Which do the people prefer? Which would make the best appearance for Key West? Do the people here take pride in this neat and strictly modern newspaper, or do they prefer an in- ferior one? : The Citizen only seeks the cooperation and patronage that is justly due it as a highly necessary community enterprise.
