The outstanding deveiopmient of the Week-end was the stieééssful convoying of food trucks by cavalry and armored cars ftom the Victoria Dock to the distributing center in Hyde Park. The strikers newspaper de-| nounced the use of troops as “ridiculous and ufhecessary” and said it was done to “create belief that the strike has reached violent | revolutionary aims.” The government in a statement at noon today said introduction of the military convoys insured ample food supplies for Lofidon. The military démonstrations | of | the last few days, it was asserted have greatly disheartened the trades union congress, and have ereated the deepest impression among the population of Lohdon’s “dockland.” The trades union congréss an-) nounced that permits issued to/ union members to assist in the distribution of foodstuffs have been withdrawn. This action was taken’ in view of thé confusion caused by the unfon offer which was made to Prenilet Baldwin,| but whieh, it was stated, had not been answered. In order to avoid confasion between the authorities and the stfikers the pertiits were recalled.
