Pursuant to adjournment the County «Commissioners of Itasca County, Minne- ‘gota, met at the Court House in the ‘Willage of Grand Rapids, this 28th day of October, 1913, atl0 o’clock a. m. } Members present: Commissioners King i O’Brien and Passard. Commissioner O’Brien moved that the chairman appoint a committee to act in conjunction with Engineer Lidberg in the supervision of the clearing of the right-of-ways of the several Trunk Line roads. The motion was seconded by Commis- sioner Passard and carried by unanimovd wote of all members‘ present, The chairman appointed the following scommittees: Duluth-St. Vincent road—Commission- ers O’Brien, Passard and King. Board of County Commis+ sioners: Itasca County, Minn. ©Gentlemen:— The Board of Audit of Itasca County, Tespectfully reports to your honorable body that they have examined the books accounts and vouchers of the County, ‘Treasurer, counted and ascertained the kind, description and amount of fundg 4n the treasury of said county, or be- longing thereto, for the period from ‘March Ist, 1913, to May 31, 1913, both ~days inclusive. Simon for correction of assessment and abatement of taxes was approved and recommended to the Minnesota Tax Commission, Bids for the purchase of $300; Itasca County, Road and Bridge Bonds) ae advertised for sale this day, werd received as follows: Bolger, Moser & Williams, by Wy, H. A. Cash; To take sald bonds at par and accrued interest upon the condition that the County pay then a commis- sion of $20,700, or if the bonds are to be paid for as funds are required in payment of the proposed work a com~ mission of $19,200 for expenses, com~- missions and services. Matt- on: To take said bonds at par ang accrued interest upon the condition that the County will re-emburse them for servics in connection with’ the sale of said bonds, the expenses of legal and incidental services in preparing the «bonds for market. j Duluth Securities Co., by G, A. Elder:, To take said bonds at par ang interest to date of delivery upon cony dition that the County pay said Duz luth Securities Co. a commission of $10,750 for services in the sale of said bonds, and upon the further condition that they will procure and deliver to the County $50,000 of the present’ out- standing Itasca County Bonds, which the County will redeem and pay for. The said commission of $10,750 to be for their services in procuring and de livering to the County $60,000 of tha present outstanding bonds, and handling, of the $300,000 Road and Bridge bonds as per this bid. Mr, Mattson, representing C, O. Kal. man & Co., was present and stated that, the amount of. commission for marketing bonds, legal expenses, etc., in connec- tion with their bid would not exceed the sum of $15,000. Commissioner Passard offered the fol, lowing resolution and moved its adop-, ‘tion: \ Whereas, upon opening the bids for the $300,000.00 road bonds, the bid of, the Duluth Securities Company, of par and interest for said bonds, they to furnish attorney’s opinion and blank bonds without expense to the county of Itasca; Now, therefore, be it hereby resolved, {that the $300,000,00 Itasca. County Road bonds, due $20,000.00 July 1, 1918, and $20,000.00 each year thereafter to and including July 1st, 1932, bearing interest, at the rate of four and one half per cent be and they are hereby awarded and sold to the Duluth Securities Com-. pany at par and interest, that being the best bid and the most advantageous to said county of Itasca, Upon motion of Commissioner Passard seconded by Commissioner O’Brien the foregoing resolution was put to vote and carried by the following vote: Ayes: Commiss ioners King, Passard, Nelson and O’Brien, Nays: Commissioner Shellman, he that in his judgment a saving made to the county by waiting foregoing |and at the same time the proposed duplicate | road work will not suffer in any way. Commissioner 0’Brien moved that the County Autlitor be instructed to adver- tise for bids for the construction of County Road No. 137 according to plans and specifications prepared by Assistant State Engineer Lidberg amd on file im the office of the County Auditor. The motion was seeonded by Com. missioner Nelson and carried by unan- imous vote, M. McAlpine was present and offered to sell to the county the Ogema hotel property at Pokegama lake for a tuber- culosis sanitarium: Comraissioner Passard moved that a committee be appointed ot make an ex- amination of said property.
