= | PAGE SIX OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS OF THE BOARD County Commissioners OF Itasca County, Minnesota. Grand Rapids, Minnesota, October 10, 1913. Pursuant’to adjournment the board of y commissioners of Itasca county Minnesota, met at tthe courtt house in the village of Grand Rapids, Minnesota, this 10th day of Octobur, 1913, at 10 o'clock a. m. Members present: Commissioners King, Passard and Nelson. Minutes of previous meeting read, and upon motion of Commissioner Passard seconded by Commissioer Nelson, were approved as read. ‘Commissioner Passard moved that a committee be appointed to examine the work done on Carl Magnuson’s contract on thte road in Ardenhurst,and that the be authorized to let con- clearing the right-of-way on Fork-Alvweod road from the west end of Robinson bridge in the town of Popple, to connect with the road where cleared in the town of Alv- wood, and that Engineer Lidberg be in- structed to accompany the committee. The motion was seconded by Commis- sioner Nelson and carried by unaimous vote of all members presemt. Commissioners King, Passard and Nel- son were appointed such committee. Commissioner Passard moved that the whole board be a committee to examine the Leeman bridge and arrange for tem- porary repairs. The motion was seconded by Commis- sioner Nelson and carried by unanimous vote ‘of all members present. . Commissioner Nelson moved that the sum of $350 be appropriated out of the road and bridge fund to be used under the direction of Henry Volke for im- proving the Axel Malemgren road. The motion was seconded by Commis. sioner Passard and carried by unanimous vote of all members present. Commissioner Passard moved that the application for refund in the matter of Torrance No. 90 be laid over until Octo- ber 28th, 1913, for further consideration. The motion was seconded by Commis- sioner Nelson and carried by unanimous vote of all members present. The bids for the construction of County Road No. 117 were opened and read, the bids being as follows: John Lundeen, for the sum of $2,591.50 A. A. Mitchell & Co., for the sum of $1,800.00. Commissioner Nelson moved that the bid of A. A. Mitchell & Co., being the lowest and best bid be accepted. The motion was seconded by Commis- sioner Passard and carried by unani- mous vote of all members present. Commissioner O’Brien arrived at this time. Commissioner Passard moved that a committee of three be appointed to ex. amins roads in Towns 59-24, 61-25 and 26 and 68.24 The, motion was s:conded by Commis- sioner Nelson and carried by unanimous vote of all members present. Comm oners Nelson, O’Brien and King were appointed such committee. The following applications for correc- tion of assessment and abatement of taxes were approved and recommended to the Minnesota Tax Commission: Halvor Halvorson, George E, Palmer, Fred Betz, George Becker, Edwin Smith, Charles F. Grand Rapids, Minn., Sept. 29,1913. A meeting of the school board of School District No. One was held in the board's offic, in the Central school build ing at 2:30 p. m. F, W. Stockwell, C. H. Dickinson and J. D. Doran were present. The minutes of thy meeting of Sept. 22nd were read and approved. I. A. Martin and Andrew Hagelee ap- peared before the meeting and requipted that a school be established for their ¢hildren. Mr. Martin offered to rent a building and furnish a stove for $5.00 per month, Mr. Hagelee offered to trans- port his children to the proposed school for $5.00 per month. It was moved that the offers of Messrs. Martin and Hager lee be accepted and that a school be opened in their neighborhood. The mo- tion was carried. Mr. Martin offered to furnish six cords of dry\tamarack and 6 cords of green birch (18 inch)wood at $1.75 per cord, to be delivered to the proposed new school in his neighbor- hood. Said offer was, upon motion, ac- cepted. There ware received $7.00 as rent of auditorium, and from E. A, Freeman $50.45, for sale of school supplies and apparatus, which funds were turned over to Treasurer Dickinson. It was moved that the notices to be posted by the clerk, calling for bids for. transporting children to the Carlson school, should include the Metzenhuber child. The motion was carried. Notice of Expiration of Redemption Office of County Auditor, COUNTY OF ITASCA, MINNESOTA. To Joseph Nolan You are hereby notified that the fol- lowing piece or parcel of land, situated in the County of Itasca, State of Minne- sota, and known and described as fol- lows, to-wit: Lot 14, ».ock 6, Wilson & Gillespie Addition to Village of Grand Rapids, Minn., is now assessed in your name. That on the 3rd day of May, A. D. 1897, at a sale of land pursuant to the real estate tax judgment duly given and made in and by the District Court in and for said County of Itasca, on the 24th day of March A. D. 1897 in proceedings to enforce the payment of taxes delinquent upon real estate for the year A. D. 1895, for said County of Itasca, the above described piece or parcel of land was duly offered for sale, and no one bidding upon said offer an amount equal to that for which said piece or parcel was subject to be sold, to-wit: the sum of Seventy-nine cents, the same was duly bid in for the State of Minnesota for said sum. ‘That thereafter, and on the 11th day of August A. D. 1913 the said piece or parcel of land, not then having been redeemed from said sale, and having then become the absolute property of the State of Minnesota, was sold and conveyed at public sale by the County Auditor of said County pursuant to the order and direction of the State Auditor of the State of Minnesota, and in ac- cordance with the provisions of the statute in such case provided, for the sum of Four Dollars and twenty cents duly paid to the County Treas- ‘urer of said County. That the certificate of sale for ‘said piece or parcel of land executed and de- livered by said County Auditor upon said sale above mentioned has been presented to me at my office by the hold- er thereof for the purpose of having notice of expiration of time for redemp- tion from said tax sale of said property given and served. STATE OF tax sale, at the date of this notice, ex- clusive of the costs to accrue upon said notice, is the sum of Four Dollars and twenty-eight cents, and interest as pro- vided by law to the day such redemp- tion is made. That the time for the redemption of said piece or parcel of land from said tax sale will expire sixty (60) days af- ter the service of this notice and the fil- ing of proof of such service in my Witness, My hand and seal this 18th day of September (Auditor's Seal Itasca County, Minnesota)
