Clyde Peck of Hibbing was in town over Sunday, and will shortly move his family to Hibbing. Mr. and Mrs. Chase Scannell and little son, of Duluth, are guests of Mr. Art Scannell and family. Misses Jennie and Ruth Liese, spent a couple of days in Duluth, last week, returning with their sister, Mrs. Al Murray, from Ruth, Neb., who will make a long visit here. Mrs. F. A. Willie VanHorn was unfortunate enough to sprain his ankle last Saturday, which kept him con- fined to the house for several days, | but he is able to be about again, though still somewhat lame. Mr. and Mrs. Joe Arbuckle were called to Duluth, Thursday, by a message announcing the death of Mrs. Arbuckle’s sister, Mrs. A. CG. Little. The body was taken to the old home at Perly, Minnesota, for burial. Mr. F. A. King and Miss Muriel Myers of Grand Rapfds, were week end guests at the home of Mr, King’s daughter, Mrs. D.M. Mrs. Julius Johnson received word that her father, Mr. Lane, of Ny- more, Minnescta, had met with a serious acciccst, and left for Ny- more Thursday evering with her lit'.s sen. Mr. Joiuson went 10 Grand Rapids with them, returning on Friday morning. Marble has felt the influence of the dock strike at Duluth, as the fire was taken from all but one of the boilers at theHill mine Saturday, owing to a shortage of cars. However, several men re- sumed work Monday and the others will probably all be on again with- in a few days. Mr. A. A. Mitchell of Bovey has the contract for putting in the cement walk around the school building and has the work under way. With the new walk, and the number of shrubs and flowers planted this year, our school grounds are certainly something of which to be proud. Miss Laura Middleton, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Middleton, and Mr. James H. McCormick from Superior, will be married at high noon Saturday, in Duluth, at the home of her sister, Mrs. J. F.
