Commissioners Shellman moved the the adoption of the following resolu. tion: Resolved that the hearing upon the petition for the formation of a new school district to be composed of the territory embraced i the organized town of Marcell be continued to the Ist day of July, 1913, at 10 o’clock A. M. Be it further resolved that the bids for King, the construction of a bridge across Splithand Brook, on State road No. 1; also the bids for the construction of County Roads numbers 102, 107 and 120; also the bids for the construction of a/} fire escape leading from jury room on the 3rd floor of the County Court House be continued to the Ist day of July, 1913, at 10 o’clock A. M. The motion was seconded by Commis- sioner Nelson and carried by unani- mous vote of a1 members present. Pursuant to adjournment the Board of County Commissioners of Itasca County, Minn., met at the Court House in the Village of Grand Rapids this 1st day of July, 1913, at 10 o’clock A. M. Commissioner Passard moved the ad- option of the following resolution: Resolved that the following amounts be, and the same are hereby, approp- tiated from the County Road and Bridge Fund. $300 to the Town of Sago, of which amount $250 is to be expended upon the road running East from Leipold Post Office in said Town, and $50 upon a bridge across what is known as the outlet of Round Lake in said Town. $25 to be expended under the direc. tion of Henry Sinkola upon a road run. ning to his place in Townships 144 and 145, ‘Range 25. $200 to be expended under the di- rection of Commissioner King and As- sistant State Engineer Lidberg upon County Road No. 101, being also known as State Road No, 6. $25 to be expended under the di- rection of Nels Dyer in the improve- ment of a road on the North line of the Town of Deer River. $75 to be expended under the direc. tion of Frank Swanson upon the Bow. string Road. $75 to be expended under the direc. tion of John Larson in the improvement of the Grouse Creek Road. The motion was seconded by Com- missioner O’Brien and carried by un- animous vote of all members present. Commissioner Passard moved that the chairman appoint a committee of three to examine the Sand Lake Bridge and the approaches thereof. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Nelson and carried by unanimous vote. Committee appointed: Commissioners Passard, Nelson and King. ‘Commissioner Shellman arrived at this time. The petition for the formation of a new school district to be composed of the territory included in the organized Town of Marcell was then taken under consideration. An opinion filed by the County Attorney was then read. After hearing all further evidence in favor of and against said petifion Commissioner O’Brien moved that the petition be granted, and that the chairman of the Board and County Auditor execute the proper order forming said territory into a new school district, describing said district and the boundaries thereof, and designating the same as School istrict No. 4. The motion was seconded by Commis- sioner Passard, and upon rol call was carried by unanimous yea vote of al: members of the Board. The folowing order was then exec- uted by the chairman and County Au. ditor and filed with the County Au. ditor. STATE OF MINNESOTA, COUNTY O ITASCA. Before the Board of County Commis- sioners In the matter of the petition for the organization of the Territory comprised in the Township of Marcell into a separate Common Schoo! district. WHEREAS, a petition in due form has been presented to the Board of County Commissioners oi Itasca County, Minnesota, asking that the territory comprised in the organized township of Marcell be made into a separate com- mon School District; and WHEREAS, after notice duy given according to law a hearing was had upon said petition before said board on the ist day of July, 1918, accord- ing to law; and, WHEREAS, at said hearing the said board received all the evidence in behalf of and against said petition and proposed organization, and did con. sider all arguments for and against said proposed organization; and WHEREAS, the said board did there- upon vote to grant said petition; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that the said petition be, and the same is, hereby granted; IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the territory above referred to, and which is hereinafter particuerly described be, and the same hereby is, made a com- mon schoo! district, named and to be known as School District No. 4. Commssioner O’Brien moved that the bid of Jasper M. Pogue for the construction of County Road No. 102 be accepted, the same being con- sidered the best: bid. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Pass- ard and carried by the following vote: Yea; Commissioner O’Brien, Nelson, Passard and Shellman, Not voting, Commissioner King. Commissioner O’Brien moved that the bid of C. A. Roderick for the con. struction of County Road No. 120 be accepted. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Shellman and carri€d by unanimous vote. Commissioner O’Brien moved that the bid of the Hennepin Bridge Co. for the construction of the Splithand bridge, in accordance with plan B12, for the sum of $1512 be accepted. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Pass. ard and carried by unanimous vote. In the matter of a fire escape from, the jury room upon the third floor of the County Court House, E. R. Browne submitted a bid, together with a plan to construct the same, for the sum of $125, which bid was accepted by unan- imous vote, upon motion of Commis- sioner Sh::~ sioner O’Brien. A petition was presented for the es- tablishment of a highway beginning at the section corner of sections 32 and 33, Township 56, Range 23, running east on Town line, Township 66, range 23, and Township 55, Range 23, to the South quarter Section corner of Section 33, thence South on quarter sec- tion line through sections 4, 9 argi 16, Township 656, Range 23, Town- ship 56, Range 23, to the South quarter corner of section 16, Township 55, range 23. Commissioner Shellman moved that a hearing be had upon said petition at the Court House in the Village of Grand Rapids on Tuesday the 26th day of August 1913, at 10 o’clock A.
