Vice-President | An official notice published in this | issue of the Herald-Review calls for @ special town ciec.ion to be held |at the town hall in Grand Rapids or Monday, February 5. This elec- tion is for the purpose of issuing the bonds of the town of Grand Rap- ids in the sum of $10,000 for the con- struction of a bridge across the Mis- | sissippi river just west of town and also for the purpose of opening up and constructing a road on each side of the river leading to the proposed bridge. A petition for the building of this road and bridge was signed ‘by a large number of tax payers of the town and presented to the board. In consideration of the gen- eral demand the supervisors took favorable action. The people of Grand Rapids have lomg felt the necessity of an Outlet for the set- tlers on the other side of the river to this place. It will accommodate a large settlement in a section that is rapidly settling up. x addition to thie fact it is a certainty that im time mining operations will open up in that vicinity. ‘DISTRICT COURT ADJURNED FRIDAY Judge Stanton finished the Octo- ber term of the Itasca county dis- trict on Friday of last week and ad- journed sine die.
