In accordance -with the provisions of Bection 424, Revised Laws of 1905, the Board of County Commissioners of Itas- «a County, Minnesota, met at the Coun- ty Court house in the Village of Grand Rapids, this 2nd day of January, 1912. Members present: District Number One, Cyrus M. King, Deer River, Dis- trict Number Two, Morris O’Brien, Co- hasset, District Number Three, Andy Nelson, Bovey, District, Number Four, Neil Mullins, Laprairie, District Number Jno. L. Shellman, Nashwauk. The meeting was called to order by the County Auditor who announced that the first business to be transacted was man for the ensuing year. sioner King nominated Commissioner Andy Nelson and Commissioner O'Brien nominated Commissioner Jno. L. Shell- man. Upon roll call Commissioner Shell man received three votes and Commis- sfoner Nelson two votes, Whereupon Commissioner Shellman was declared duly elected chairman of the Board for the ensuing year. Commissioner Andy Nelson was elected Vice Chairman for the ensuing year by unanimous vote. Commissioner King moved that the hearing upon the petition for the forma- tion of a new school district to be com- posed. of the organized Town of Nore and that any and all other petitions for the formation. of new school dis- tricts out of territory now included in sehool district Number One be continu- ea to the next meeting. The motion wa seconded by Commissioner Mullins and carried by unanimous vote. The County Auditor then read an epinion furnished by R. A. McOuat, County Attorney, relative to the relief ef poor, also a letter from the State attorney general concurring in said opinion. Commissioner King moved that said opinion be placed on file for future guidance of the members of the Board in caring for the poor of the County. Commissioner Nelson moved that the County Auditor be instructed to notify all persons receiving fixed monthly re- lief from the County that the same is @iscontinued. The motion was second- ed by Commissioner King and carried by unanimous vote. Messrs. E. J. Farrell and E. C. The motion was seconded by, Commissioner Mullins and carried by unanimous vote.
