In accordance with the provisions of Section 859 of Revised Laws of 1905 the members of the Board of County Com- missioners and the County Auditor of Itasca County, Minnesota, met as a County Board of Equalization at the County Court House in the Village of Grand Rapids, this 17th day of July, 1911. Members present: County Commission- ers Mullins, O’Brien and Nelson and County Auditor, M. A. Spang. Commissioner O’Brien was elected chairman by unanimous vote. The County Auditor then presented and read certain letters from the Min. nesota Tax Commission relative to the powers and duties of the County Board of Equalization. W. R. Wallace representing the Deer River Lumber Company was present and) requested the Board to reduce the per- sonal property assessment of said Company upon their lumber pjant locat- ed in the Town of Oteneagen. Upon mo- tion it was ordered that a hearing be had upon said matter on Wednesday the 19th day of July at 3 o’clock p. m. and that the County Auditor be in- structed to notify the Town Board of the Town of Oteneagen in regard to such hearing. An adjournment was then taken to 1:30 o'clock p. m. July 18th, 1911. Pursuant to adjournment the Board again met this 18th day of July, 1911, at 1:30 o’clock p. m.
