Lewis Delap has purchased saddle pony from Antony Grain. Mr. Delap is busy making prepara- tions to cut his hay crop which will be about two hundred tons. The neighbors in general are harvesting their hay crop which promises to be a profitable one. P. P. Johnson went to Northome Friday. a OFFICIAL PROCEEDINGS OF THE Village Council OF Grand Rapids Meeting held Monday, July 10th, 1911. A regular meeting of the Village Council of the Village of Grand Rap- ids, Itasca County, Minn., was held at the council chambers in the vil- lage hall, in said village this 10th day of July, 1911, at eight o’clock p. m Present—President, Bossard, Trus- tees Arscott and Russell, and Record- er Sherman. The minutes of the last meeting were read and approved. Monthly reports from the Village Treasurer and Justice of the Peace Bailey were received, presented, ac- cepted and ordered placed on file. Contractor Hachey presented his bond in the matter of the contract awarded to him on the 30th day of June, 1911, for the building of a cement sidewalk two blocks in length on 9th street, between Kindred Av- enue and Houghton Avenue, and the building of a cross walk on Hoffman Avenue. The bond is in the sum of $351.00, with Edward Hachey as principal and E. J. McGowan and B. L. Lieberman as suretles. The bond and the sureties thereon was, upon motion of Trustee Arscott, seconded by Trustee Russell, and carried by a unanimous vote, approved and order- ed) filed. Town Assessors Milaney and Mc- Ewan presented a detailed report of the census taken by them, the re- port showing that in May the Village had a population of 2,600, an increase of 370 over the findings of the U. S. census enumerator in 1910.
