August 10, 1910 Pursuant to adjournment the board of couhty commissioners of Itasca, county met at the court house in the Village of Grand Rapids, this 10th day of August, 1910, at ten o’clock A.M. i Members Present: Commissioners Thebilcock, McWilliams, Mullins and O’Brien. Upon motion hearing upon road petitions for County roads Nos. 79 and 80 were continued to the next meeting, to be held on September 1st, 1910. at ten o’clock A. M. The following report of the County Board of Audit was then presented and’ read: To The Honorable County Board, Itasca County, Minnesota. Gentlemen: The undersigned Board of Audit of said Itasca County, met at the office of the County Treasurer of said County, on the first day of August, A. Be it further Resolved, that the sum of $45,000.00 be and the same is hereby made a levy upon all tax- able property in the County of Itas- ca for the year 1910,to ‘provide a fund for the repair and construction of roads and bridges in said county. Be it further Resolved, that the sum of $15,000.00 be and the same is hereby made a levy upon pli the taxable property in the County of Itasca for the year 1910, for the sup- port of the poor of said County. Be it further Resolved, that the ism of $15,000.0 be and the same 4s hereby made a levy on all the taxable property in the County of Itasca for the year 1910, to provide a fund for the redemption of out- standing bonds of said County. Ba it further Resolved, that the sum of .$15,000.00 be and the same is herdby made a levy upon all the taxdble property in the County of Itasca for the year 1910, to provide a fund for the payment of interest to became due upon the outstanding bonds of said County.” The motion to adopt the foregoing resolution was seconded by Commis- sioner Trebilcock and carried by un- animous Rote. A petition was presented for the organization of an election district to ‘be composed of unorganized town- ship 55, range 23. Commissioner O’Brien moved the adoption of the following resolution: “Resolved, that unorganized town- ship 55, range 23, be and the same fis hereby organized and created an election district; that the bound- aries of said election district be and the same are hereby fixed in ac- cordance with the outside boundaries lines of said township as shown by the Government survey thereof; that said election district be named ‘Gran’; that the polling place for said election district be designated at the residence of Frank Gran in said township.” The motion to adopt the resolution was seconded by Commissioner Mul- lins and carried by unanimous vote. Commissioner O’Brien moved that the sum of $350.00 be appropriated from the County Revenue Fund _ to the Incidental Fund, as provided by Chapter 431 of the Revised Laws of 1905 and as amended’ by Chapter 390 of the General Laws of 1907. The motion was seconded by Com- missioner Mullins and carried by un- animous vote. Fogue, Balance on contract Bovey- Feeley road .. +. 63,50 Albert Ranger, ed, also, the balance remaining to the credit of each of the county fund ‘at the close of business on the 9th day of August, 1910, also, the amount still due upon contracts already en- tered into by the board was then presented by the County Auditor in accordance with the provisions of Section 488 of the Revised Laws of 1905. 1 A communication from the Itasca Lumber ‘Company regarding the re- moval of dead head logs from the ‘Mississippi draw bridge above Co- thasset was read and filed and the County Auditor instructed to notify all other parties driving logs in the river to remove said logs within ten days. The petition of T. T. Riley, Sheriff of Itasca County, requesting the Board to consent to the commence- ment of an action under the provis- ions of Section 620 of the Revised Laws of 1905, for the recovery of cer- tain fees claimed to be due said petitidner, was then presented and ready After considering the matter of said petition the following resolution was adopted: T. T. Riley, the sheriff of this County, having presented his petition to the Board for 2onsent to instit- ute an action against the county on account of sheriff’s fees claimed be- tween the 4th day of January, 190: and the 21st day of May, 1910, in- vlusive, amounting in the whole to the sum of $498.15, according to the schedules for such fees attached to his petition, it is moved by Commis- sioner O’Brien and seconded by Comr missioner Trebilcock that the con- sent of the Board is given to said T. T. Riley to institute an action against the county on account of such fees as shown in said schedules, amount- ihg in the whole to the sum of $498.15. Said resolution having been put to a vote, it was carried, by unanimous vote. Upon motion an adjournment was then taken to 1:30 o’clock p. m. Pursuant to adjournment Board again met at 1:30 p. m. It being the time set for hearing upon the petition for the organiza- tion of a new school district to be composed of the East half of town- ship 55, range 25, the same was then taken under consideration. The motion was seconded by Com- missioner Trebilcock and carried by unanimous vote. Chairman McWilliams appoint+1 Commissioner O’Brien amd McWil- lams to examine the road work done upon County Road No. 44, Commissioner King arrived at this time and took a seat in the meeting.
