Frank Vance was calling on friends in this, his former home, Wednesday, being on his return home on the Big Fork river from Grand Rapids where he was called as a witness in the case against Sam Simpson. Mr. Vance says he regretted he could not be a delegate at the Crookston con- vention as he has some ideas he would liked to have expressed there. He says he .would liked to have call- ed a change in the constitution and make laws like those of Wisconsin as to county boards where every township has a representative on the board; his other kick is on roads, which would readily be remedied by his first. Then he says something éught to be done about the mustard and other seed that is allowed to ‘be sold for other purposes after it has been cleaned from the grain. He thinks it ought to be burned as soon as it is separated, because this coun- try shows clearly that it travels over this section and becomes a nuisance wherever it has been fed to stock. Mr Vance knows’ that there is iron ore near his place, but he is not getting excited over it.—Deer River News. See Kremer’s ad. in this issue, of- tering rugs at greatly reduced prices. OF G F. P.
