Pursuant to adjournment the Board of County Commissioners, County, Minnesota, met at the Court House, in the village of Grand Rap- ids, this 4th day of June; 1910, at ten o’clock a. m. Members present: Commission- rs McWilliams, O’Brien and Mullins. Upon motion’ the Board adjourned to one o'clock p, m. Pursuant to adjournament the Board again met at one o’clock p. m. Members present: Commission- ¢ers - McWilliams, OBrien and Mullins. Wm. F. McCaffery, Chairman of the Town Board of the Town: of Feeley, came before the Board and request- ed an appropriation fram the County Road and Bridge fund to said Town, to aid said town in the construction of onesthalf mile of road on section line between sections 28 and 29 of said Towa. Commissioner O’Brien moved that the sum of $150.00 be apnropriated for said purpose, the same to be pay- able only after said road has been completed by the Town Board, and @ g0dd turnpike road 24 feet tno’ outside to outside of ditches has been constructed. The motion was second- ed ‘oy Commissioner Mullins and carried by unanimous vote. The Plat of South Cohasset was then presented ta the “Board for ap- proval. Upon motion of Commissioner Mullins seconded by Commissioner Itasca] O’Brien said Plat was approved by unanimous vote, and the County Auditor instructed to so certify the same. Commissioner Mullins moved that the appoint a committee of “three of the members of the Board to examine and ascertain the necessary repairs for the old State Road south of Splithand Ranch. The motion was seconded by Commission- ex O’Brien and carried by unanimous of'|at Pokegama Lake, zou at the Ogema Hotel|. and Lake Read the last meeting was then taken un: shy sum of $2,780.00, Melvin N. Willman for part “F” of - said road for the sum of $525.00, C. 8. Brock for the sum of $2240.00. The bid of Albert Ranger being the Yowest and best bid, Commission- er ‘Mullins moved that the bid of said Albert Ranger be accepted and that a contract be entered into with the said Albert Ranger for the im- provement of said road in accord- ance with tthe plans and _ specifica- tions and tis bid and offer. The sdme to be completed on or beford the first day of September, 1910. The motion was seconded by Commission- er O’Brien and carried by unanimous vote: Commissioner King arrived at this time and took a seat in the meeting. Upon motion the committee appoint. ed at the meeting af the Board held on the 7th to examine the Gratton and Spring Lake Road was discharg- ed and a new committee consisting of Commissioners King, O’Brien and McWilliams was appointed and said committee instructed to examine the Northome-Bergville road, the Gratton road, being Road No. 74, the Spring ‘Lake road, the Popple River pridge at Vance’s, the Bigfork-Mar- cell road, the Coon Lake road and road in Township 62, Range 25 and Township 62, Range 26. Commissioner King moved that W. ‘Fulton be gfven a job to tlear, grub, plow and level a portion of County Road No. 48, on section line petween settions 1 and 12 of Town- ship 54, Range 25 and sections 6 and 7, Township 54 ,Range 25, beginning at the old State Road and running east a distance of one mile ,and that he be paid for same at tha rate of $35.00 per acre. ‘The said road to be cleared, plowed, grubed and ‘evel for a width of 1-%4 rods. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Mullins and carried by unanimous vote. Upon motion of Commissioner King, seconded by Commissioner Mul lins the sum of $25.00 was appropriat ed for the repair ‘af the old Bigfork Road, Township 59, Range 24. The same to be expended under the di- rection of C. V. Smith. A committee consisting of Com- missioners O’Brien, Mullins and Mc- Williams was instructed to examine County Road No. 63, near Pengilly. It ‘being the time set for hearing upon the petition for the establish- ment. of County Road No. 76, the committee appointed to examine the route of said road filad th@ follaw- ing report: To the Board of County Commission- ers of the county: of Itasca, Min- n f Z The undersigned committee ap- pointed by you to examine the pro- posed route of ‘a highway ,as stated in the petition referred to in your ordér of appointment made on the 2nd day of Abril: ,1910, would rdspectfully report that we met at the time and place designated in your ‘said order, and proceeded to exam- ime the highway proposed to ‘be es- tablished, viz: Beginning at the section corner at the northwest corner of Section 4, Township 55 ,Range 25, and running thence east on and along the town line between Townships 55 and 56 af Range 25 to the point where said Town line intersects the ‘west shore of Prairie River. And do* herby by, the opimion of a majority of said committee reccom- mend that the prayer of the said pe- titiqners be granted. Given under our hands this 4th day of June, 1910. ’ NEIL MULLNIS, M. Commissioner King moved that the report of the Committee be approved amd said highway be and the same is hereby ordered established accord- ing to the Committee’s report; that the advantages and benefits to each description of land over which said road runs be and the same are here- by assessed equal ta the damages sustained. The motion was seconded by Commissioner O’Brien and carried by unanimous vote. It ‘being the time set for, a heart mg upon the petition of County Road No. 77 the same was then taken un- der consideration and the committee appointed to examine the route of said road filed the following report: To the Board of County Commission- ers of the County of Itasca, Min- nesota: The undersigned Committee appoint- ed by you to examine the proposed route of a highway, as stated in the petition referred to in your order of appointment made on the 2nd day of April ,1910, would respectfully report that we met at the time and-plet {designated in your order, and pro- ceeded to examine the highway pro- posed to be established, viz: Beginning at the Northeast corner of Section two (2) in the Township 146, of Range 25 in said County, and running thence west and along sec- tton line to the northwest corner of the northeast quarter of section four in said Town and Range, and there terminating. And do hereby by the opinion of a majority of said Committee recom- mend that the prayer of the sa! petitioners be granted. ‘Given under our hends this 4th day of June, 1910. A. McWILLIAMS M. The petition for the organization of Township 53, Range 22, was then tak en under consideration. Commission- er Mullins moved the adoptionof the following resolution: ‘Resolved that Township 53, Rangel 22, be and the same is hereby organized and named the Town of Warvina, to be compos- ed of all of Congressional Township $41,863.02 23, Range 22, and that the boundaries of said’ Town of Wiwina be fixed ac- cording to the outside lines of said township as shown by the govern- ment survey thereof. Further, that the first town meeting of said town be held at the residence of John Oaks in section 28 of said Township on Thursday the 23rd day of June, 1910. The. motion. to adopt the foregoing resolution was seconded by Commis- sioner King and carried by un- animous vote, The Plat} of McKinney Lake Ad- dition of Grand Rapids ‘was then pre- sented to the Board for appréval. Plat be approved and the County Auditor instructed to so certify. The motion was seconded by Commission- er Mullins and carried by unanimous vote. The matter of relief of James Moen was referred to Commissioner Mul- lins. Commissioner King moved the adoption of the following resolution: “Resolved that the sum of $75.00 bd and the same is hereby allowed to Fred Truempler in full settlement of all claims for damages for drain- age ditch in connection with State Road No. 1 across his land in Town- ship 145, Range 25, and that the County Auditor be instructed to is- sue a warrant upon the County Road & Bridge Fund ,in favor of said Fred Truempler for said amount.” The motion to adopt the resolution was seconded by Commissioner O’Brien and carried by unanimous vote. Commissioner Mullins moved the adoption of the fololwing resolution: “Resolved that the sum of $2,800.00 be and the same is hereby appropriat- ed from the Couhty road and Bridge Fund, ta be expended under the direction of Commissioner Mc- Williams in the construction of Coun- ty Road No. 63.” The motion to adopt the resolution was tseconded by Commissioner O’Brien and carried by unanimous vote.
